How to Apply to Law School

There are many steps in the law school application process (and many components to each application), and if you’re just starting out, the thought of going through all of them might feel daunting. Don’t worry! LawHub® is here to guide you as you prepare to apply, submit applications, and ultimately decide where you’ll attend law school. Here’s an overview of the process, along with links to resources that will help you along the way.

Connect With Your Prelaw Advisor (Recommended)

If you’re currently an undergraduate student (or a recent alumnus), you should know that most schools offer prelaw advising or other career support. As early as possible in your law school journey, make time to speak with an advisor; they can recommend courses that will help you build the skills you’ll need for law school. And even if you’ve already graduated, they can give you advice on preparing for the LSAT®, choosing a school, and navigating financial aid, among other topics.

If you’re not sure how to reach your prelaw advisor, add your school to your JD Services profile, which you’ll create in the next step. Once you’ve added your school, your advisor’s contact information will be available in the “Prelaw/Academic” section.
